Ownership Changes

A belated announcement but Red Auto body has been under a new owner since spring of 2016 as I’ve retired, much to my family’s relief. (There weren’t many 70-somethings doing body work.)

History

Greetings!  My name is John and I am the owner/proprietor of Red Auto Body Shop.  I first gained experience in automotive repair by apprenticing in Indiana.  After it became clear that the labor market in Indiana in the 70s was not too promising, I moved my then young family to Chicago, where I’ve lived and worked for now over 30 years.  Fortunately, with careful (and at times painful) saving and a little bit of good luck, I was able to make my American Dream a reality by opening up my own business.  This was the beginning of Red Auto Body Shop.

Red Auto Body Shop has been in business for nearly 30 years.  The original shop was located off 2500 N. Western Ave.  However, that shop proved to be too small, so we relocated to our 4600 N. Elston location, which features a spray booth and alignment system. 

I have worked hard to gain my customers’ trust and confidence over the years and hope to make you a lifelong customer as well.  Most importantly, I believe it is important to always be honest and fair with the customer. This is why you will find that we offer some of the most competitive rates that you will find for repairing your vehicle (with insurance or without).  What we lack in amenities for your visit here, we more than make up for in cost savings and a straightforward approach.  (After all, you have better things to do than waste time in my office.) 

I hope to be able to share more information about what we do — eventually with before & after photos — so until then, this blog will be indefinitely in progress.

We offer comprehensive collision repair, including free (no obligation) quotes on-the-spot, insurance filing, glass replacement, certain car modifications, repairs done on frame alignment system, and paint services offered through the use of a spray booth.
